Michael Lahm currently serves as Sr Director of Data Science at Optum AI since March 2023, having transitioned from a longstanding tenure at UnitedHealth Group where roles included Director of Data Science and Principal Data Scientist since May 2018 following the acquisition of Savvysherpa, Inc., where Michael was a Data Scientist from May 2015 to May 2018. Prior to a career in data science, Michael gained extensive experience in education, working as a Mathematics Teacher at Mitchell County Schools and Bessemer City High School from 2008 to 2012 and as an SAT Preparation Teacher at Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions from 2006 to 2007. Michael holds a Master's Degree in Statistics from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Teacher Education from Penn State University.
