David Barton

David Barton has had an extensive career in the field of information risk management. David started their career at Springs Industries as a Senior Manager and worked there for 8 years. David then joined KPMG, LLP as a Senior Manager in Information Risk Management and worked there for 6 years. After that, they worked at EarthLink as a Senior Manager in Information Risk Management for 2 years. David then joined Accume Partners as the Director of IT Services for 2 years. Finally, they became the Managing Director at UHY LLP, Certified Public Accountants, where they served as the practice leader for Technology, Risk and Compliance services.

David Barton attended Appalachian State University from 1978 to 1982, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a focus on Information Systems and Marketing. Later, from 1986 to 1988, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the same university. In terms of additional certifications, Barton acquired a CRISC certification from ISACA in 2011 and also holds a High Performance Driving Instructor certification from the Porsche Club of America.
