Mariam Orme

Mariam Orme is a scientist currently serving as the Deputy Chief Scientific Adviser and Head of the Science Team at the Department for Education. With over nine years of experience bridging the gap between science and policy in various government departments, Mariam specializes in using evidence and analysis to inform decision-making. Prior to this role, they gained extensive experience in academia as a postdoctoral fellow and associate lecturer, where they conducted research in molecular and cellular biology.
