Joel Feik

Joel Feik has extensive work experience in the field of GIS analysis. Joel currently holds the position of Senior GIS Analyst at Ulteig since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Stantec as a Senior GIS Analyst from 2022 to 2023, where they developed solutions for surface mapping and tunnel mapping, created daily reports, and provided overall support in various GIS-related tasks.

Before joining Stantec, Joel worked at Ulteig as a Lead GIS Analyst from 2017 to 2022, and as a GIS Technician from 2014 to 2017. In these roles, they played a key role in conducting foundation mapping, georeferencing, digitizing, and lidar and imagery processing. Joel also created web maps and figures as part of their responsibilities.

Prior to their time at Ulteig, Joel worked as a GIS Technician at the State of North Dakota Department of Emergency Services/Department of Transportation from 2011 to 2014. Joel also gained experience as a Licensed Agent at Bloom Marketing from 2010 to 2012, and as a Check-in Coordinator at AuthorSolutions in 2011.

Joel started their career as a Planning Intern at the Department of Metropolitan Development, City of Indianapolis/Marion County in 2011. Overall, Joel Feik has a strong background in GIS analysis and has contributed significantly to various organizations throughout their career.

Joel Feik has an extensive educational background in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and English. Joel obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in English from Brigham Young University - Idaho, where they studied from 2004 to 2007. In order to further their expertise in GIS, they pursued a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Penn State University in the year 2010.

Seeking further advancement in their career, Joel Feik pursued a Master's Degree in GIS, again from Penn State University, which they completed between 2014 and 2016. This degree would provide him with a more in-depth understanding of the subject.

Furthermore, in 2013, Joel Feik obtained a certification through Coursera for completing a course titled "An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python". This certification reflects their dedication to keeping up with current technology trends and expanding their skill set.
