Michael Friedmann

Michael Friedmann has a strong background in optics engineering and has worked in various roles throughout their career. Michael is currently the Director of Optics Engineering at Ultima Genomics since April 2022. Prior to that, they held multiple positions at KLA. These roles include Manager Advanced Development (April 2020 - April 2022), Optics Manager (July 2016 - April 2020), Manufacturing Design Engineering Manager (August 2006 - June 2016), Systems Manager (December 2004 - August 2006 and August 2002 - September 2003), Project Manager (August 2003 - December 2004), Optics and Algorithm Manager (January 1999 - July 2002), and Algorithm Engineer (March 1997 - January 1999). At KLA, they contributed to the development of optical metrology tools, optimized optics for interferometers, developed machine vision algorithms, and initiated design improvement programs to enhance manufacturability and serviceability.

Michael Friedmann's education history begins in 1982 when they started studying at the University of Bucharest. Michael pursued a Bachelor's degree in Physics and completed their studies in 1986. After a few years, they enrolled at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and began their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electro-Optics in 1990. Michael successfully completed the program in 1995. Following their impressive academic achievements, Michael Friedmann continued their educational journey at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. From 1995 to 1997, they pursued a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree in Electro-Optics, further adding to their expertise in the field.
