Ben Thompson has worked in the field of clinical research since 2004, beginning with a role as a Research Scientist at the Institute of Food Research. In 2009, they moved to the University of East Anglia as a Temporary Post Doc, and then to the Oxford Vaccine Group, University of Oxford as a Project Manager in 2010. In 2012, they joined the Primary Care Clinical Trials Unit, Department of Primary Care, University of Oxford as a Senior Clinical Trial Manager, and in 2016 they moved to the University of Reading as a Strategic Partnership Manager (Health). Most recently, in 2020, they began working at Ultromics as the Director of Research Operations and Clinical Sciences and Clinical Research Lead, where they are responsible for the oversight of Ultromics' clinical sciences team and clinical research portfolio.
Ben Thompson completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol between 2001 and 2004. Ben then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cellular Biology from the University of East Anglia, which they completed in 2010.
