James Stephens

James Stephens is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as Senior Vice President and Legal Counsel at UMB Financial Corporation since May 2015. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Regional Counsel at FINRA from September 2002 to May 2015, as well as positions as an Associate at Shook, Hardy & Bacon and Blackwell Sanders between 1997 and 2002. James earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School (1994 - 1997) and holds an A.B. in History and Science from Harvard University (1988 - 1992).
