Ram Shankar

Ram Shankar is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of UMB Financial Corporation. Ram has over fifteen years of experience in the financial services industry, including investment banking, equity research, and corporate finance.

Ram began their career as a research analyst covering California banks and business development companies for FBR. Ram later became Vice President and Senior Analyst at the firm. In this role, they were responsible for equity research and providing advice to clients on investments in the banking and financial services sector.

In 2011, Ram joined First Niagara Bank as Managing Director of Financial Planning & Analysis / Investor Relations. In this role, they were responsible for developing and executing investor relations strategies, corporate and line of business strategic plans, financial forecasting, corporate development efforts, and financial performance management and reporting. Ram also supervised a team of Business Unit CFOs who partnered with the company's profit centers and partnership services.

In 2016, Ram joined UMB Financial Corporation as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. In this role, they are responsible for the overall financial management of the company, including strategic planning, capital markets activities, treasury management, and investor relations.

Ram Shankar has earned a MBA in Finance from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance MIS from Rochester Institute of Technology.

They are on a team with Jim Rine - President, and Chief Executive Officer, UMB Bank, n.a., L. Joshua Sosland - Director, and Tim Murphy - Director. Ram Shankar reports to Mariner Kemper, Chairman, President & CEO.
