Jon Engelsman

Jon Englesman has a diverse work experience spanning over several years in various roles and companies. Jon started their career as a Research Intern at the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) in 2003. After that, they worked as a Co-op at PC Krause and Associates, Inc. from 2005 to 2008, followed by an Assistant Engineer role at PC Krause and Associates from 2009 to 2010.

In 2010, Jon joined Vestas as a Measurement & Verification Engineer, where they negotiated and coordinated performance validation tests for wind farm development projects across the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions. Jon also worked on power performance and control system issues and developed software applications for commercial and operational analysis. Jon remained with Vestas until 2015.

Jon then joined EDF Renewable Energy as a Performance & Reliability Engineer for a brief period from March to June 2015. Jon later transitioned to the role of Lead Fleet Engineer from June 2015 to September 2017.

After leaving EDF Renewable Energy, Jon worked as a freelancer from 2017 to 2018, where they explored technical research writing and personal networking focused on remote sensing and geospatial data technologies. Jon also undertook freelance software development projects.

In 2019, Jon joined AT&T Labs, Inc. as a Geospatial Data Engineer, where they worked until October 2022. Finally, in 2023, they started working as a Software Engineer at Umbra.

Jon Engelsman completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution during the same period. Subsequently, from 2008 to 2010, Jon pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
