Matt Lapointe

Matt LaPointe is an experienced aerospace professional currently serving as the Director of Business Development at Umbra since June 2025. Previously, Matt held the position of Advanced Programs Engineering Manager at Redwire Space from February 2021 to June 2025, where leadership in technical strategy for advanced Solar Array systems led to the acquisition of over $150 million in contracts. Prior roles include Mechanical Design Engineering Manager at Redwire Space, Technical Director at Deployable Space Systems Inc., and Mechanical Design Engineer at ATK, with early engineering experience at Lockheed Martin Santa Barbara Focalplane. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara, awarded in January 2008.
