Matt Lapointe

Matt LaPointe is a highly experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Director of Business Development at Umbra since June 2025. Prior to this role, Matt was the Advanced Programs Engineering Manager at Redwire Space, where leadership in technical strategy and development of advanced Solar Array systems contributed to securing over $150 million in contracts with clients such as Blue Origin and Thales Alenia. Matt has also held positions as Mechanical Design Engineering Manager at Redwire Space and Technical Director at Deployable Space Systems Inc., where significant advancements in solar array technology were achieved. With a strong background in mechanical engineering from UC Santa Barbara, Matt has been instrumental in foundational developments across multiple organizations since beginning a career that includes extensive experience with deployable space structures and engineering management.
