Simon Yule has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and positions. Simon started their career as a Research Assistant at ABB New Zealand, conducting a situational brand audit and identifying new opportunities. Simon then interned as a Marketing Intern at the University of Canterbury, where they researched market opportunities for foreign students. Simon then joined Mainfreight as a Sales and Account Manager, handling client accounts, managing the BD pipeline, and implementing new freight management technology.
Simon then moved to QBS Software, where they worked as a Marketing Executive, managing web content, producing EDM campaigns, and improving SEO. Simon's next role was as a Digital Marketing Manager at Southern Railway Limited and Gatwick Express, where they launched a digital product and implemented digital marketing strategies across online channels.
Simon then joined SAS - Scandinavian Airlines as a Digital Marketing Manager, responsible for digital marketing strategy, operational strategy, and data-driven marketing strategies across international markets. Simon also spent time in the Hong Kong office as a Senior International Digital Marketing Manager.
After that, Simon worked as a Product Implementation Partner at EveryMundo, focusing on product implementation. Simon then became a Digital Marketing Consultant at OneDay Hong Kong, specializing in SEO, content strategy, and market research for the property/real estate technology company.
Currently, Simon is the VP Advertising Operations at Umbrella Digital, where they lead clients' conversion tracking objectives, manages and optimizes paid media campaigns, and supports product and workflow development.
Throughout their career, Simon has gained experience in various areas of digital marketing, including conversion tracking, paid media campaigns, SEO, content strategy, and market research.
Simon Yule completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Geography from the University of Canterbury, which they attended from 2003 to 2005. Following that, they pursued a higher education degree and obtained a BCom Hons (1st Class) in Strategy and Management from the same university, studying from 2005 to 2008. In terms of additional certifications, Simon received the DoubleClick Campaign Manager (CM360) certification from Google in February 2016. Simon also obtained the certification for "Transform Your Website and User Experience" from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing in November 2014. In November 2012, Simon acquired certifications in "Mobile Marketing" and "Mobile Marketing: Advanced" from the Institute of Data & Marketing (IDM). Furthermore, Simon gained expertise in Google Ads Search and Google Ads Video, receiving the certifications in August 2020. Finally, they completed the Google Tag Manager Fundamentals course provided by Google, although the specific month of completion was not provided.
