Dong Liang serves as a Research Associate Professor at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science since July 2014, specializing in environmental statistics with a focus on fisheries, estuarine ecology, remote sensing, and imaging data. Prior to this role, Dong Liang was a postdoctoral research scholar at the University of Iowa from July 2011 to July 2014 and held a postdoctoral position in the Department of Geography at the University of Iowa from 2010 to 2011.
