Rick Herrera

Rick Herrera, Ph.D., serves as the Chief Data and Analytics Officer at infosavvy since June 2015, where the focus is on machine learning projects, including predictive algorithms for the Army Analytics Group and Mayo Clinic. Additionally, Rick teaches graduate-level statistics for biotechnology at the University of Maryland Global Campus. Previous positions include Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Polaris Genomics, directing RNA data analytics for mental health biomarker discovery, and roles at Mayo Clinic and Naval Medical Research Center, where significant advancements in bioinformatics and data integration were achieved. With a robust academic background, including a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from George Mason University, Rick has an extensive history of research and development in bioinformatics and computational biology across various esteemed institutions.
