Eric Tan

Eric Tan, PhD, is a Strategic Product & Development Manager at Umicore since January 2024 and serves as a Principal Investigator at Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research & Application Center since April 2020, where a new research lab and group have been established. Research focuses on heat-responsive material synthesis, material selection, and the design and development of various coatings and sensors. Previous experience includes roles as a Senior Specialist at Arçelik Global, Senior Process Development Engineer at ASM Laser Separation International, and culminating in a PhD from the University of Amsterdam, where advanced work with laser equipment and materials interactions was conducted. Eric Tan also has a strong background in semiconductor manufacturing from positions at Intel Corporation and SilTerra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and holds a Master of Science in Nanoelectronics and nanomechanics from The University of Sheffield.
