Kavya Michael is a researcher at Chalmers Technical University, focusing on the intersections of climate change, urban inequality, migration, and development in India. They have held various academic positions, including Research Associate at Mahatma Gandhi University and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements, where they studied the experiences of marginalized communities affected by climate change. As a Visiting Fellow at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Kavya explored the justice implications of urban climate adaptation measures. They currently serve as a member of the Science Committee for the World Adaptation Science Programme under the UN Environment Programme. Kavya holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Hyderabad.
