Levacy Smith

Levacy Smith is an experienced adoption social worker and educator with a diverse background in social work and sociology. Currently self-employed, Levacy serves as a State Director at Lifeline Children's Services, leading a team to support families through adoption processes and community engagement efforts. Responsibilities include fundraising and developing programs for women in crisis pregnancies. As an Adjunct Professor at UNC Charlotte since May 2015, Levacy teaches courses on Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Introduction to Social Work, and Community Engagement. Additionally, Levacy has held a position as a Certified Adoption Investigator at the South Carolina Department of Social Services since June 1999, performing homestudies and overseeing adoption placements. Levacy also has previous teaching experience as an Adjunct Professor at Johnson and Wales University. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, both obtained from the University of South Carolina.
