The Uncommon Sense (US) Labs are directed by Dr. Alexander T. Adams, faculty member of the School of Interactive Computing, Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience, and the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines at Georgia Tech. We aim to monitor, diagnose,  and prevent health issues through designing wearable and ubiquitous sensing systems to meet people where they are and provide continuous sensing and remote diagnostic solutions. We explore and create closed-loop systems through multi-modal, peripheral feedback that can help regulate people's emotions and trigger behavior changes.  
At US Labs, we actively collaborate with stakeholders, including patients, medical professionals, and industry, helping ensure our designs are sensitive to and fulfill their needs.  Our goal is to get research off the shelves, out into the world, and into the hands of users. To achieve this, we rapidly iterate our prototypes to test feasibility and functionality, then create a high-fidelity (near commercial), fully deployable system.
The US Lab team has broad expertise and experience, including but not limited to 3D printing, fabrication, machine learning, computer vision, signal processing, study design, embedded systems, and optical design. This range of skills affords end-to-end development, allowing us to tackle various problems from many angles.
