Claudia Roethlisberger is an experienced economist and advisor currently serving as an economist and speechwriter for the Deputy Secretary-General at UNCTAD since June 2010. Claudia's research focuses on trade and development issues, with an emphasis on development finance, gender, commodities, and sustainable tourism, particularly in Africa and the Least Developed Countries. Prior to this role, Claudia worked as an associate economist at ECLAC, coordinating macroeconomic analysis and statistics for Caribbean countries. Earlier experience includes a position as a Junior Professional Officer in human resources management with the United Nations, where Claudia developed monitoring tools for HR processes, and as a volunteer with an international NGO, supporting projects related to women's empowerment and children in conflict. Claudia holds a Master's Degree in Development Studies from The London School of Economics and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Business Administration from HEC Lausanne.
