David Vivas Eugui

David Vivas Eugui has extensive experience in trade, environment, and sustainable development, holding various legal and leadership positions at UNCTAD since December 2013, including Chief of Section a.i. for the Ocean and Circular Economy Unit. Previous roles at UNCTAD featured multiple legal officer positions, culminating in the role of Senior Economic Officer in the Commercial Diplomacy Branch. David Vivas Eugui owned Vivas Consulting from June 2011 to November 2013. Prior to these roles, contributions were made at ICTSD as Deputy Programmes Director, and at the Center for International Environmental Law as Senior Attorney. Diplomatic experience includes serving as Attaché for Legal Affairs at the Mission of Venezuela before the UN in Geneva. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from UCAB, an LLM from Georgetown University, and a Master's degree in Transnational Business from Universidad Externado de Colombia.
