Veronica Rivera has extensive experience in programme management and research related to trade facilitation, competition, and consumer protection policies, primarily at UNCTAD since 2006. In the current role as part of the Trade Facilitation Section, responsibilities include organizing training and events focused on trade issues in Least Developed Countries, while also liaising with various stakeholders. Earlier positions involved establishing a global Research Partnership Platform on competition and consumer protection and contributing to the EMPRETEC Programme to enhance SME capabilities in Latin America. Additional roles included research assistance with organizations like the Women’s World Summit Foundation and the Association for the Prevention of Torture. Veronica holds a Master’s degree in Management and Environmental Audit and has completed advanced programme management training and a Bachelor’s in International Relations, with a focus on economics and international law.
