Candace Thompson

Candace Thompson currently serves as an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington's College of Education, a position held since August 2008. In addition to this role, Candace has also acted as Interim Associate Dean for the Office of Engagement, Professional Learning, and Scholarship. From July 2018 to August 2022, Candace was the Department Chair of the UNCW Watson College of Education. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Adult and Community Education and a Ph.D. in Social Foundations of Education, both obtained from the University of South Carolina between 2000 and 2008, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Connecticut.
