Dr. Michael Smith

Dr. Michael Smith serves as the Director of Institutional Research & Analytics at the University of North Carolina Wilmington since January 2022. Prior experience includes leadership roles at Gateway Technical College, where responsibilities encompassed governance and the management of data assets, and at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, focusing on research and operational improvements. Dr. Smith has also held positions at Suffolk University managing federally funded programs and coordinating outreach and retention strategies, as well as serving in various capacities at North Shore Community College and the United States Army. Dr. Smith earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Endicott College and holds a Master of Education from Touro University International and a Bachelor of Science from Taylor University.
