Lori Sutter

Lori Sutter serves as a Professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington since January 2022, bringing extensive experience in ecological research and education. Prior roles include Research Scientist at the Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources (UGA), Research Professional at the University of Georgia Warnell School, and Mendel Fellow at Villanova University. Sutter's academic journey includes a PhD in Marine Science focused on Tidal Marsh Ecology from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, a Master's degree in Wetland Ecology from Duke University, and a Bachelor's degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University. Additional significant experience includes serving as Director at Integral Yoga, Owner of a private consulting firm, Senior Scientist at NOAA Coastal Services Center, and GIS Coordinator at the North Carolina Division of Coastal Management, where Sutter advanced techniques in habitat assessment and ecological modeling.
