Meredith Hovis

Meredith Hovis currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, starting in August 2023. Prior to this role, Meredith Hovis worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Arizona from August 2022 to August 2023 and served as Executive Director of the Southeast and Caribbean Disaster Resilience Partnership from August 2021 to August 2022. Additional experience includes working as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at North Carolina State University, where support was provided to undergraduate students in the Natural Resource Policy course, and as an Adjunct Professor in Environmental Studies at Elon University. Earlier roles include serving as the Canvassing Director for Environment North Carolina and fundraising for Meredith College. Meredith Hovis holds a PhD and MS from North Carolina State University in Forestry and Environmental Resources and Natural Resources Management and Policy, respectively, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sustainability and Spanish from Meredith College.
