Michael Abate

Michael Abate currently serves as the Director of IS - Mortgage Systems at Primis since October 2022 and has been a Part-Time Instructor/Lecturer at UNC Wilmington since December 2015, teaching courses in Cyber Security and Information Systems. Prior experience includes a significant role as Senior Network/System Deployment Engineer at Lear Corporation from May 2013 to October 2022, where responsibilities included deploying VMWare environments and managing infrastructure projects. Michael held various engineering and administrative positions with organizations such as Guilford Mills, SunGard Public Sector, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, among others, accumulating extensive expertise in network management and system deployment. Michael holds a Master of Science in Computer Science and Information Systems from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Computer Information Systems from Appalachian State University.
