Sam McNeely

Student

Sam McNeely is currently serving as a Marine Science Interpretive Diver at the Seattle Aquarium since February 2024. McNeely has been a student at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington since August 2019 and previously worked as a Research Technician in the Fisheries Conservation lab at the Smithsonian Institution from October 2022 to January 2024. Additional experience includes roles as a Fisheries Technician at the NC Division of Marine Fisheries from November 2021 to October 2022, an REU Intern at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, and an ASIP Intern at the Arctic Domain Awareness Center, both in May 2020. Sam also worked as a Freshwater Biologist at the South Carolina Aquarium from May to August 2019 and served as an AmeriCorps Member in the FEMA Corps from July 2018 to April 2019. McNeely holds education credentials from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (2019-2021) and North Carolina State University (2016-2018).
