Understanding Disabilities, Inc. (UD), a non-profit organization incorporated in 1997, has provided disability awareness programming for 32 years. 

Our mission is to provide disability awareness programming to help children see beyond people’s disabilities and to view other children as individuals and friends. We increase awareness, raise consciousness, and provide the tools for students to act compassionately at school today and in society tomorrow-  highlighting all that people with disabilities can do and promoting a culture of inclusion and respect.
