Tim Broder

Tim Broder is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in engineering and digital innovation. Currently serving as VP of Engineering & IT at Understood.org since September 2025, Tim previously held the position of VP of Engineering & Data at Highlights for Children from April 2023 to September 2025, where significant efforts were made to transform digital teams and drive technology initiatives. Tim's career includes leadership roles such as VP of Tinkergarten Technology, where integration and innovation were key focuses, and Chief Technology Officer positions at Tinkergarten and WAVE™, contributing to product development and operational improvements. Early roles at Kidfund and Alexander Interactive showcased expertise in product strategy and technology management, along with foundational experience at Lehman Brothers Inc. in software development and team leadership. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
