Christine Reddell

Head - Social and Environmental Compliance Unit

Christine Reddell is a legal professional with extensive experience in environmental law and compliance. Reddell began a career as a Legal Intern at the Centre for Environmental Rights, specializing in corporate accountability and transparency, before progressing to a Candidate Attorney role at Dawson, Edwards and Associates, where support was provided for commercial litigation and fishing rights applications. Reddell later served as an Attorney at Smith Ndlovu and Summers Attorneys, advising a diverse clientele on environmental law matters. Further advancing expertise, Reddell worked with the Green Climate Fund as Registrar and Case Officer of the Independent Redress Mechanism, focusing on social and environmental accountability. Currently, Reddell holds the position of Case & Policy Specialist in the Social and Environmental Compliance Unit at UNDP, leading investigations into policy non-compliance. Reddell’s academic background includes an LLM in Marine and Environmental Law, an LLB, and a BA in History and Sociology, all from the University of Cape Town, as well as current studies toward a Certificate in Global Affairs at New York University.
