David Matern

David Matern is the Resident Representative of UNDP, UNFPA, and UNICEF in Cabo Verde, where they lead the Joint Office supporting the government's sustainable development efforts. Previously, David served in various roles including Senior Adviser at UNICEF, where they were instrumental in strategic partnerships and resource mobilization, and worked with UNHCR and the World Food Programme in donor relations and humanitarian assistance. David's academic background includes advanced degrees in International Relations and History from prestigious institutions such as the University of Cambridge and the University of Notre Dame. Prior to their current position, David contributed significantly to humanitarian financing and the development of partnerships within the UN system.
