Monirul Hoque currently serves as the National Programme Officer for the UNDP Insurance and Risk Finance Facility (IRFF), leading activities in Bangladesh to utilize insurance and risk financing for the protection of vulnerable populations and ecosystems. Prior to this role, Monirul held various positions at BRAC from September 2013 to December 2023, including Microinsurance Lead and Lead for Non-Life Insurance, where significant accomplishments included designing universal health and maternity insurance products, scaling crop insurance, and driving operational improvements. Monirul has also contributed as a management professional at BRAC, managed a rural microfinance branch, and conducted research for BRAC West Africa Microfinance. Educational qualifications include a Certified Expert in Microinsurance from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and an MBA from the University of Dhaka.
