Sofia Cánovas Pereda is a seasoned lawyer and Senior Advisor to the Head of the United Nations in Ukraine, currently holding multiple roles within the UN, including Senior Inter-Agency Coordinator for Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA). With over 17 years of experience in human rights, public health, and humanitarian work, Sofia has a Master's degree in Intellectual Property and ICT Law and advanced studies in Gender and Development, Health in Humanitarian Crises, and Global Health Diplomacy. They have worked across diverse regions, including conflict zones and refugee camps, building strong partnerships with various organizations and advocating for the rights of vulnerable populations.
