Tomas Sales has extensive experience in the fields of sustainable development, finance, and capital markets, currently serving as the UNDP Regional Africa Private Sector Special Advisor within the Inclusive Growth Sustainable Development Cluster since August 2014. In this role, Tomas leads the design and implementation of the African Facility for Inclusive Markets (AFIM) across 38 Sub-Saharan African countries, collaborating with governments, regional organizations, and financial institutions. Prior to this, Tomas held various leadership positions, including Director for Africa Emerging Markets at Development Partnerships Ltd and Global Sustainable Business General Manager at UNDP, focusing on finance and sustainability initiatives. With an educational background that includes an Advanced Post Master Degree in International Economics and Finance from St. John's and a Master’s degree from Fordham University, Tomas brings robust expertise to advancing economic development and sustainable business practices in emerging markets.
