Elaina Cox

Indigenous Leadership Commission Member

Elaina Cox is an accomplished environmentalist recognized as one of the Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25. With extensive experience in environmental, climate, and sustainability work, they currently serve as the Indigenous Relations Coordinator at the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, promoting diverse community interests in the forestry sector across Canada and the United States. Elaina has been actively involved in various roles, including Co-Chair of the Youth Advisory Council at the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada and as a member of the Indigenous Leadership Commission with UNESCO. They have also contributed to research on biodiversity and Indigenous stewardship policies through affiliations with organizations like Parks Canada and the United Nations Association in Canada. Elaina holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Governance from the University of Guelph and a Master's degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo.
