Tapiwa Jongwe

Tapiwa Jongwe serves as an ICTs in Education Specialist at UNESCO since January 2016, focusing on innovative ICT solutions to enhance education accessibility in remote areas. In this role, Tapiwa explores a variety of technologies to connect schools to quality educational materials. Additionally, Tapiwa holds the position of Board Member for the UN Joint Staff Pension Fund since January 2018 and previously served as Head of IT Service Delivery at UNESCO, managing IT activities across 50 countries. Tapiwa's extensive experience spans multiple roles at UNESCO and IAEA, including Human Resources Management Information Systems Specialist during a significant IT transformation project, and various positions in systems analysis and project management in HR systems. Early career experience includes working as an Analyst Programmer for Rio Tinto Africa, developing information systems for a nickel refinery.
