William Ejalu is a qualified international human rights lawyer and political science graduate. They served as the Head of Sub-Office at UNHCR from 2020 to 2023 and previously held the same position in Somalia from 2017 to 2020. Their extensive experience with UNHCR also includes roles as a Protection Associate and Protection Officer. Additionally, William led the legal program at the International Law Research and Human Rights Monitoring Centre from 2004 to 2007 and chaired the Eastern Region Humanitarian Team in Afghanistan in 2022-2023. William earned a Doctor of Law degree and a degree in Political Sciences, both from Eötvös Loránd University.
