Peter Hunter

Peter Hunter is an experienced professional in the field of labor relations and trade unionism, currently serving as a Member of the Fair Work Convention since October 2024. With a long-standing role as Regional Manager at UNISON since 2011, Peter has overseen strategic management of recruitment and training in Scotland. In addition, Peter acts as a General Council Member at the Scottish Trades Union Congress and has contributed to Scottish Union Learning as a Board Member and Past Chair. A Lay Member of the Employment Appeal Tribunal since 1999, Peter also provided insights to the Council of Scotland for ADDACTION until 2021. Academic qualifications include an LLB in Law from the University of Strathclyde, an MPhil in Industrial Relations from the University of Glasgow, and a BSc in Geography from the University of Edinburgh, complemented by a certificate in Leadership, Authority, and Organisation from the Scottish Institute of Human Relations. Prior experience includes roles at The Law Society of Scotland and a creative career as an artist photographer.
