Luca Occhini

Luca Occhini serves as the Team Lead of the Programme Division at Unitaid, a public-private partnership focused on enhancing disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in low and middle-income countries. With over 13 years at The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Luca managed substantial portfolios totaling USD 900 million and led a team of 21 staff, achieving high implementation rates. Key accomplishments include redesigning the organization’s approach to maximize impact against HIV, TB, and malaria through the Differentiation for Impact strategy. Prior experience includes consultations at Eptisa and program management at COOPI, complemented by advanced degrees from the University of Sussex and the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya in governance and conflict negotiation.
