UNITAR Education Group began in 1991 with Institut Teknologi Tun Abdul Razak (ITTAR), pioneering technology-driven education in Malaysia ahead of its time. In 1997, Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNITAR) was established as Southeast Asia’s first virtual university, removing geographical barriers and opening access to working adults and non-traditional learners. This early commitment to technology and accessibility positioned UNITAR as a future-ready institution from the start.

Today, UNITAR has evolved into an integrated education ecosystem, comprising UNITAR International University, UNITAR University College Kuala Lumpur, and UNITAR College, with a nationwide presence across 12 states. Its programmes span key faculties including Education, Business & Management, Accounting & Finance, Information Technology, Creative Arts & Design, and emerging digital and AI fields, developing educators, professionals, and industry-ready talent.

UNITAR now stands as a technology-enabled education powerhouse, committed to building the people who will shape Malaysia’s future.
