United Controls International was established as a division of Reliance Electric in 1971 and was later spun off as an independent company. 

With 50 years of experience supplying dedication and qualification services to the nuclear power industry, UCI has consistently provided quality service and products to companies all over the world.  We supply a comprehensive range of safety related items and services, including: seismic qualification; harsh environment qualification; such as radiation, LOCA, and thermal testing; EMI/RFI qualification; and commercial grade dedication.  UCI also performs many types of material testing in our material testing lab, including; XRF, FTIR, Rockwell Hardness, Micro-Hardness and Durometer Shore A.  Additionally, UCI assists plants with obsolescence issues, provides re-engineering services, and also provides engineering consulting services.  

UCI is the only source for Nuketape®, which is qualified for harsh environment applications within nuclear power plants. 

UCI meets the highest standards of quality control established by the nuclear industry and other standards authorities. UCI maintains a 10CFR50 Appendix B program audited by NUPIC & NIAC. UCI has designed, manufactured, tested and installed systems in scores of nuclear power generation plants around the world. UCI maintains a database of thousands of nuclear qualified parts and electrical components that we have tested, dedicated and qualified. UCI has an extensive array of test equipment, an experienced engineering staff and is able to offer a broad range of testing services.
