United Oil Projects Company (UOP) was founded in 1979 as Kuwait Chemical Manufacturing Company (KCMC). It established the region's first-ever resin manufacturing facility, laying the groundwork for the resin industry in the region. UOP has a rich history of innovation, and this pioneering spirit continues to propel UOP's success. The Chemical Division has steadily grown into a reliable provider of high-quality Solvent based resins across the region. Currently, the Coating and Composite industries in Kuwait, GCC & MENA region rely on KCMC to meet all their resin needs. Many top international paint brands in the region collaborate with UOP’s in-house R&D team to create durable, custom-designed resins suited to their specific performance demands. KCMC proudly holds certifications for ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System) standards.

The company has actively engaged in the Oil & Gas sector, solidifying its position as a significant contributor through direct investments, strategic partnerships, and collaborative ventures with global entities. UOP’s wholly-owned subsidiary, United Qmax Drilling Fluids (UQDF), provides drilling fluids and associated services to Kuwait Oil Company. Among UOP's affiliates are United Precision Drilling Company (UPDC), which specializes in drilling services, and JTC Logistics Transportation & Stevedoring Co. K.S.C.P (JTC), offering services such as Ports Management, Contract Logistics, Warehousing, Equipment Leasing, and Power Rental.
