Donald Smith

Donald Smith is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as Engineering Superintendent at United Utility since May 2023. Previously, Donald held the role of Quality Assurance Supervisor at BHI Energy from November 2020 to June 2023, where leadership of a dedicated team focused on distribution design and storm hardening contracts was emphasized. In earlier roles at BHI Energy, including Mapping Supervisor and Distribution Design Engineer, Donald promoted new talent and contributed to infrastructure modernization. From February 2018 to September 2020, as Metrology Lab Supervisor at UNEW, innovation and efficiency optimization were key focuses, while earlier experience as Design Engineer involved advanced turbine component design in the power generation sector. A foundational internship at NextEra Energy, Inc. provided insights into power delivery from generation to distribution.
