Gareth Jones

Gareth Jones has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Gareth is currently the Chief Operating Officer - Industrial at Unitrans since January 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Operations Executive at the same company from November 2020 to January 2023. Before joining Unitrans, Gareth worked at Blue Label Telecoms, where they held the position of Chief Operating Officer - South Africa Distribution from May 2019 to November 2020. Gareth also served as the Managing Director - Blue Label Distribution from September 2017 to April 2019. Gareth has prior experience at Anheuser-Busch InBev, where they worked as the Director: Tech Sales and Route to Market - Africa from January 2017 to August 2017. Gareth started their career at South African Breweries in 2002, holding various roles such as Trade Marketing Manager, Regional Marketing Manager, Sales Development Manager, Depot Manager, Sales Manager, Brand Development Manager, Promotions Manager, and Sales Representative.

Gareth Jones began their education at De La Salle Holy Cross College, where they obtained a Secondary School Education (High School) diploma between 1992 and 1996. Moving forward, they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing and Human Resource Management at the University of the Witwatersrand from 1997 to 2000. Gareth then continued their studies at the University of Johannesburg, where they completed a Bachelor of Commerce Honors degree in Marketing between 2001 and 2002. In 2007, they attended the GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) for the Nexus Program, which focused on Socio Economic Development. Finally, Gareth completed the Management Development Program in Business Management at the University of Cape Town in 2009.
