Prior to their time at Unitrans, Tiaan worked at XINERGISTIX MANAGEMENT SERVICES, where they held several management positions, such as National Manager for Neogistix, Operational Manager, National Planning Manager, Systems Manager, Admin Manager, Operational Planner, and Management Trainee. In these roles, they were responsible for revenue and fleet management, personnel management, customer service, and implementing efficient processes and systems.

Tiaan Wever began their education journey in 2006 at Stellenbosch University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree in Management Accounting. Tiaan successfully completed this program in 2009. In 2010, Tiaan attended Stellenbosch University again, where they pursued a Bcomm (Hons) degree in Logistics Management. In the same year, they also enrolled at The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and completed an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting.
