Brian Chin

Brian Chin has had a diverse work experience in the software engineering and data science fields. In 2017, they began as a Software Engineer Intern at Chrona. In 2019, they moved on to become a Data Science Intern at Vinsight (YC W17). In 2020, they became a Software Developer at Bountiful. In 2021, they worked as a Machine Learning Intern under SocialCyber IRAD and a Machine Learning Intern under AI/ML Accelerator IRAD at Leidos. In this role, they worked with Security, Detection, and Automation Dpt. and TSA in creating and analyzing models determining if a certain article contains explosives. Brian also trained XGBoost binary classification models, improved hit rate and decreased false alarm rate, transferred existing codebase into Dataiku DSS, implemented and trained object detection CNNs, and revamped legacy models. Currently, they are a Software Engineer at UnitX.

Brian Chin attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2018 to 2022, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
