Boyd began their career in healthcare administration, working in various roles at Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System. In 2014, they were promoted to Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, where they oversaw the development and implementation of the hospital’s marketing and business development strategy.

In November 2015, Boyd joined SSM Health as the System Vice President of Strategic Development. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing regional strategy and business development activities, including the development of annual and five-year strategic plans, medical group strategies, and local joint ventures and rural health business development for three hospitals and multiple free-standing clinics.

Amelia Boyd completed their undergraduate degree at West Virginia University, where they double majored in Journalism and English, with a minor in Psychology. Amelia then went on to earn their Master's in Business Administration / Health Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology. Amelia also has a certification in LEAN Yellow Belt from etsfl, as well as a certification from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) in FACHE.
