Laurel Fleming

Laurel Fleming currently serves as the Director of Compliance and People Practices at UnityPoint Health, a position held since May 2021, focusing on leading the UnityPoint Compliance Program and aligning training and education across multiple facilities. Prior to this role, Laurel served as the Regional Director of Integrity and Compliance/Privacy Official at MercyOne Central Iowa Region from August 2019 to April 2021, where oversight of compliance and privacy programs for four hospitals was managed. Laurel's experience also includes a tenure at Northwestern Medicine as the Director of Health System Compliance & Chief Privacy Executive from 2014 to 2018, responsible for privacy programs and compliance with health information laws. Earlier roles include serving as Assistant General Counsel and Director of General Corporate Compliance at the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation and a Partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, providing legal counsel in various healthcare-related matters. Laurel holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Chicago Law School and a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
