Raymond Lao is a Lead Operational Technology Engineer at Unitywater since January 2019, specializing in water and wastewater network telemetry and control systems, with responsibilities that include roadmap governance, operational strategies development, and management of operational data for business decision-making. Previously, as a Communications and Controls Engineer, Raymond managed industrial communication systems integral to smart water and wastewater networks. Earlier experience includes a Project Engineer role at Schneider Electric, contributing to PLC and SCADA projects for notable clients such as BMA Coal and Rio Tinto, and participation in various engineering internships at Downer and Alcoa, where competencies in AutoCAD design, Siemens S7, Rockwell ControlLogix, and CitectSCADA were developed. Currently pursuing a Master of Data Science at UNSW, following a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same institution.
