Peter Cramer

President, Production at Universal Pictures

Peter Cramer is President of Universal Pictures. In this role, he is responsible for the creative strategy and day-to-day creative oversight of Universal Pictures’ live-action film slate.

During his tenure, Cramer has supervised the development and production of tentpoles, homegrown franchises, and bold originals across all genres. His work helped propel the studio to record-breaking results at the global box office, including Universal’s two most profitable years ever in its 107-year history.

In 2019, Cramer oversaw such hit films as Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Us, Good Boys, and Glass. In his 14 years at Universal, he helped initiate and supervised the Pitch Perfect, Purge, and Ride Along franchises, and also such hits as Ted, Get Out, Neighbors, Lucy, Split, Jason Bourne, Unbroken, Girls Trip, and American Gangster, among many others. He also oversaw the highest-grossing film in Universal’s history, Jurassic World, as well as its sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Cramer joined Universal as Senior Executive Vice-President of Production in 2005, then served as Co-President of Production, and as President of Production prior to his current post. Before Universal, Cramer was Executive Vice-President at New Regency Productions, where he oversaw such films as Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Man on Fire. He also held positions at Daybreak Productions, where he was an Executive Producer on Universal’s October Sky, and at HBO Films. He started his career at Creative Artists Agency.

Cramer is an active member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. He is a graduate of Harvard University.
