Principal Software Engineer/tech Lead

Xi Chen is a Principal Software Engineer and Tech Lead at Universal Robots, where responsibilities include leading the development of the Remote TCP and Toolpath URCap and system architecture since May 2022. Prior to this role, Xi Chen served as the Director of Robotic Control Systems at Energid Technologies from May 2013 to May 2022, focusing on cobot control and RTOS-based controllers, and also held the position of Senior Robotic Systems Engineer, where work involved kinematics and dynamics simulation for rovers and manipulator arms. Earlier experience includes a role as a Software/Robotics Engineer at Vecna Technologies, contributing to research and development for logistic robots, and a Research Assistant position at the University of Delaware. Xi Chen holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and a Certificate in Computational Science and Engineering from the University of Delaware, as well as a B.E. in Automation from Nankai University.
